FAQ’s

  • Typically, short-term (acute) problems will respond within just a handful of treatments, while longer-term (chronic) problems may take up to twelve or more treatments before you begin to see consistent changes. It is recommended to come at least weekly when addressing acute and chronic concerns.

  • The needles that we use are very thin. While you may feel the needles being inserted, the sensation often goes away in about 30 seconds then there is a calming affect that begins to take place.

  • Community acupuncture offers treatment in a quiet and relaxed group setting.  Our hope is that you feel a sense of togetherness as part of your healing process.  You can come with your friends and family for more fun and a community approach also offers a significantly reduced rate compared to individual acupuncture.

  • Yes! For those who “really don’t like needles,” we offer acupressure as an alternative where a noninvasive EarSeed sticker is used on the same point instead of a needle.

  • Yes! Many teens and children do acupuncture. However, acupuncture would not be appropriate for a child who could not sit still during the treatment. In this case, acupressure would be more suitable.

  • No.  Acupuncture is born out of a philosophy based on balance and the body’s own natural ability to heal when in balance energetically.  People of all races and religions (or no religion) can and do benefit from acupuncture.

  • The ear is believed to be a microsystem of the entire body. There are points on our ear for everything from emotional to physical and from internal organs to the tips of our fingers.  Amazing, right!?

  • Acupuncture is a safe, effective and natural way to improve your overall wellness.  Acupuncture is performed by using hair-thin, single-use, sterile needles. Some people report feeling light and energized while others feel calm and relaxed—this is all normal!
