Shannon is a holistic psychotherapist, mind-body wellness practitioner and the founder of Living Tree Wellness LLC. She completed her Masters in Social Work education and training from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and also has a B.A. in Psychology.
Shannon worked at Michigan Medicine for 14 years, most recently in the Department of Psychiatry Neuropsychology. She managed and facilitated The Hunger Within Workshops providing individual and group therapy to adults with disordered eating, specifically addressing the psychological forces that drive compulsive, emotional and binge eating disorders. She also has over a decade of experience implementing substance abuse prevention programming, mental health coping and resiliency, and stress management skills for adolescents.
Shannon has a passion for integrated health and body-based approaches to healing. In addition to being a Licensed Master Social Worker, Shannon is a Certified Nutritional Therapist, Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist, Certified Emotion Code Practitioner, and a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200). She is trained in a variety of treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Transactional Analysis, Emotional Freedom Technique, Auricular Acupuncture and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
Living Tree Wellness is “faith-based” but not “in your face.” Meaning, while rooted in Judeo-Christian principles, you need not be any specific religion to receive or benefit from our holistic services. All are welcome!
